In just a short time, Grace House Akron will be opening its doors to care for terminally ill, under-insured and underprivileged individuals who would otherwise die alone, without the support of their family and friends.
Looking back, opening a home like Grace House was just a dream. But that dream started to take shape. Committed volunteers and so many generous people like you made Grace House a reality. Without your generosity, we wouldn’t be where we are today.
We are excited to welcome our first residents in July, and we are in the final phases of construction. One of the last steps is the The Philip H. Maynard Faith & Reflection Courtyard, a tranquil space where residents, friends and loved ones will take crucial steps in their journey. The courtyard will feature a winding walkway with sitting areas, a fountain, a wind phone and beautiful landscaping, creating an environment of calm and peace.
The walkway will be constructed with personalized paver bricks offering inspiring messages, commemorating special occasions, recognizing families or honoring those we’ve lost. These bricks will show our residents that they aren’t alone and that many people have contributed to create this final comforting space for them.
We are offering the first chance to purchase pavers to our current supporters before we make them available to others. This is a chance to leave a permanent mark in our courtyard and honor those you love, preserving your memories in our most peaceful space.
Pavers are available in two sizes and can be purchased here.
Pavers purchased by July 8 will be included in our first installation in the fall of 2022.
Any pavers purchased after that date will be installed in spring 2023.
Thank you for your generosity and for your commitment to Grace House Akron.
